Joe Biden and the Democrat Party are sweating it out in the DC swamp, of their own creation, this summer. Every time the Dems get themselves, and unfortunately the USA, into another jackpot of their own making for decades now, more than a century, I have to ask myself: "What did they think would happen?" Democrats have been compelled and catapulted by one motivation: their unceasing quest for power. Hiding under the guise of states' rights the Democratic Party was formed during the anti-bellum era of the 1820's. Following the civil war, the Democrats struggled to maintain credibility let alone power. As the newly formed Republican Party, founded on equal rights and the abolition of slavery coupled with reunification of our Constitutional Republic, ascended to government service in Washington DC. Desperately trying to maintain power, the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) was formed in 1865 by factions of embittered southern Democrats. Being the bullies and cowards they were, they hid their identities under white hooded shrouds while terrorizing black and white Americans. But it was also during this time that the Republican Party made the greatest post slavery era accomplishments with unification, the election of black Congressmen and Senators to the US federal houses. The halcyon of our republic flourished for the next quarter century, until the Democrats regained power.
It seems every time the Democrats regain power (or perhaps seize it?) chaos and destruction ensue. The accomplishments and restoration of Constitutional Republican Principles were shredded as both black and white conservative seats in congress were eliminated and replaced with Democrats. In 1913 Democrat Woodrow Wilson, former president of Harvard was elected president. During this administration the US and the world was subjected to the first global war and pandemic. The US government experienced its first growth bloat. Wilson, perhaps the first American President to embrace Marxist globalism, relentlessly tried to create a Legue of Nations. Following a debilitating stroke which left him speechless and non-ambulatory, Wilson finished out his second term with the intervention and enabling of his second wife and former secretary Ellen Axson Wilson. Based upon reports from that time, historical scholars today believe that by Mrs. Wilson's actions of isolating her husband from the White House and Executive Branch staffs, she was in fact acting as unelected president. Are you seeing a pattern here yet?
Perhaps the largest federal government growth - bloat spurt occurred during Democrat Franklin Roosevelt's administration. Among the countless agencies, departments, and bureaucracies initiated during his administration, taxes increased (despite the Depression and unemployment) to subsidize innumerable social - welfare programs and departments so that employed Americans were working and / or being subsidized by the federal government. This was an even bigger leap to socialism than the Wilson Administration. FDR pushed for the next level of global Marxism, picking up where Wilson left to found the United Nations. During both Wilson and Roosevelt tenures the treatment of black American citizens had not improved. In fact, Jim Crow (voter restriction) and segregation laws were rampant disenfranchising Americans from their Bill of Rights under the Constitution. Both Wilson and Roosevelt showed disdain for the Constitution by frequently bypassing and disregarding it with their liberal interpretation and disregard for the sovereignty of the US citizens. We can thank Roosevelt though for the 25th amendment, due to his unprecedented four terms.
By the 1960s, Democrats quest for power continued full speed during the Vietnam war under the heavy progressive hand of Democrat President Lyndon Johnson. Increasing the already overpopulated federal bureaucracy, the Johnson Administration created the largest social welfare nanny state with his "Great Society" move and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The saddest part of the Civil Rights Act is that it's cloaked in the advancement of the federal government, not human rights.
Bless Jimmy Carter's heart! He can enjoy his sunsetting days knowing he is no longer America's worst president. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This may be the case for Carter. The Democrats have a proclivity for producing weak "leaders" to stand as props for their real leader's agendas. Under President Carter's administration, the federal government continued to outgrow its bloated self with the addition of The Department of Education and The Department of Energy. The Carter administration was plagued with inflation, stagflation, the energy crisis coupled with recession. Carter's biggest blunder on the foreign affairs landscape was dumping our control of the Panama Canal. Meanwhile, an upstart Senator from Delaware showed up in DC ready to take full advantage and every opportunity his role would advance him. His name, Joe Biden.
2008 saw the demise of the free press when the media became the fifth column for the Democratic Party. Convinced that it was time for a Black President, regardless of qualifications, experience, or patriotic principles, the media jumped headfirst all in for Barack Obama, another upstart politician who rapidly rose from the mean streets of Chicago as a community activist to counsel man named Barry Soetoro. Running as Barack Hussein Obama, the future Democratic leader was elected to the US Senate in 2005. After serving only half of his freshmen senatorial term, Obama was quickly catapulted to the center stage as the Democratic candidate for President, despite not being fully vetted to American voters. origins, allegiance, and education in Communist Principles. Had this been done, it would've have revealed his questionable origins, allegiance, and education in Communist Principles. Once his meteoric campaign was launched, all media, progressive liberals and the Democrats would and could not be stopped. It was a forgone conclusion, among pundits, that it was time for a change in America. Whether Americans wanted it or not. In fact, immediately following his election, Obama ascended the podium and announced with a grim and emphatic determination that indeed "change has come to America." A chilling prophesy of what the Democrats were about to unleash on their fellow Americans on the eve of the Democrats' 200th birthday. Wasting no time and with rapid fire the Obama administration increased the deep state population by piling on more social welfare programs, regulations, and the bureaucrats to monitor them and Americans than any administration before it. Following his second election, Obama boasted of enjoying a third unencumbered term, where he would have more leverage to implement his (Marxist - Globalist) agenda. Joe Biden was Obama's Vice President.
The last six paragraphs have shown the pattern of the Democrats quest for control and power over the citizens of the United States. We have witnessed this pattern repeat itself, with increasing fervency, during each Democrat administration. Following each Democratic rule our nation has been left worse off than before, encumbered with more economic burdens and less merits for individual responsibilities and rights. This is the Democrats’ Road to Perdition. They brought an existential threat upon themselves. They say they're fighting a threat to Democracy, but they're only interested in maintaining the democrat in democracy. America is not a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. The Democrats are reaping what they’ve sown. But, as the Democrats are fond of doing, they flip the narrative and accuse their opposition of what it is they themselves are guilty. Except now. In this long, hot summer of 2024, the Democratic Party has lost control of the narrative, the media, and most importantly themselves. In Part II, I explore the self-destruction of the Democrat Party.
